🌿 Yoga Teacher in Training: Week 4

Finding My Voice in Stillness

Coursework is now in full flow and I’m really enjoying the topic breakdown and delivery. This week we were asked to write and guide a three to five minute Centering Meditation to be shared with our accountability partner, and I absolutely loved it.

In this digital age, it was interesting to notice how hard it can be to let my own voice come through freely. I journal regularly but still struggle between wanting the tactile experience of writing on paper and the convenience of typing everything digitally. For this assignment, though, I knew I needed pen and paper beside me. A few minutes of meditation and gentle movement helped me settle, and soon my words began to shape themselves naturally.

Technology did play its part. I recorded myself, listened back, made a few small adjustments, and was pleasantly surprised to find that my natural pace works best when slowed slightly. The end result is a three minute centering meditation that feels true to who I am. I’m proud of it, and I’m really looking forward to the mutual exchange when I hear my partner’s version. Giving and receiving thoughtful feedback feels like a key part of this process.

🌬 Pranayama & Meditation

I’m thrilled to be entering the first modules on Pranayama and Meditation. At this stage in my own practice, these are the pillars that keep me most grounded. Without breathwork or meditation, yoga would feel incomplete, and the physical practice would lose its meaning for me.

📚 New Modules

This week we’re beginning the first lessons on Philosophy and Business before Thursday’s class. Then, on Saturday, the group gathers again for our second in-person training weekend out of nine or ten. This part-time format is proving to be the perfect fit. Having a partner for accountability and live Thursday sessions with cameras on and small breakout groups creates a real sense of connection and joy. It’s almost surreal that we’re such a large group and have only met once so far.

💭 Reflections

✨ I found my voice by returning to pen and paper.
✨ Slowing down allows more truth to come through.
✨ Breath and stillness are the real heart of yoga.

Today I’m feeling deeply “in the study zone” and grateful to have this blog as a way to mark each stage of this journey.
